WisteriaLane is proud to feature Julie, Designer of Painted Butterfly Studio...and this is one multi-talented South California mama. Not only does Julie design beautiful handpainted totes, she also designs both boy and girl sets and has a knack with applique too...all while working full time and mothering two boys!



Readers might be surprised to know that Julie lives in Southern California in the same house she grew up in, she was once on the show "The Wheel of Fortune" and though she's left handed, she does everything except write and paint with her right hand.










Outgoing, fun and talented are three must-use words when capturing Julie's personality, the designer behind painted butterfly studio's could easily be described as a social butterfly.

Fun, Flirty, Fashionable can only describe these darling styles from Alev, the Designer behind Boutique*Nrf*Ny


Readers might be surprised to know that Alev is Turkish, she moved to the United States many, many years ago--after finishing college for advanced studies at Parson college and ended up making New York home after meeting and marrying her husband, the love of her life. Alev is known not only for her unique sewing skills, she says she's also a great listener, "You can tell me all your secrets" and she's sure to keep them safe. After talking with Alev it's easy to see why her friends would confide in her: charming, witty, and easy going is the vibe, though Alev does have a sense of humor too. WisteriaLane is glad to have Alev on board, she's a true team player.

In honor of Alev's Turkish heritage, we've decided to share a Turkish recipe for Macaroni cake. Macaroni also happens to be an American Fave...much like Alev, it's a perfect blend of both cultures and I can't wait to give it a go, hope you enjoy. :)

WisteriaLane Member Feature...

Meet Kris, the Designer behind Skippy*Doodle designs. This multi-tasking mom of three moved from her home in New Hampshire to Quebec 17 years ago, picked up the french language and can now hold her own. She designs fun, fashionable playwear for children and also finds time work at her daughter's school and manage a popular boutique website Designers Notion.
Kris enjoys sewing, traveling, watching her boy's play hockey and of course cheering her little cheerleading daughter on at competitions. Kris enjoys reading a good book and camping with her children in the summer, Buyers should watch for a new collection of fun playwear clothing coming this fall on etsy and ebay. Kris is currently working on a trunk show collection that's sure to wow.






In Honor of Kris's french language skills, we at Wisterialane are sharing a fave French recipe with our readers, hope you enjoy!

French Crepes

What you'll need:
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon white sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 eggs
2 cups milk
2 tablespoons butter, melted
Your fave fruit topping!

DIRECTIONS
Sift together flour, sugar and salt; set aside. In a large bowl, beat eggs and milk together with an electric mixer. Beat in flour mixture until smooth; stir in melted butter.
Heat a lightly oiled griddle or frying pan over medium high heat. Pour or scoop the batter onto the griddle, using approximately 2 tablespoons for each crepe. Tip and rotate pan to spread batter as thinly as possible. Brown on both sides and serve hot.
Crepes are delicious when topped with a fave fruit like strawberries or blueberries.
